Job Summary We are currently looking to add another member to our team! We are looking for a Cabinet Shop Apprentice/Assistant to coordinate the daily warehousing activities that include proper receiving procedures, picking, packing and the delivery of materials. Don’t have experience? Don't worry! We will train! In this position, you will have the opportunity to learn the trade of cabinet refacing! Come be a cabinet apprentice in our shop, learn the trade and work to becoming a cabinet refacing installer! Job Overview The Cabinet Shop Apprentice/Assistant is primarily responsible for successfully organizing our warehouse, administering our inventory, and delivering materials to homes from Riverside to Palm Springs area. What we are looking for in a new team member: • Team player with a positive attitude • Honest, trustworthy, and dependable • Eager to learn and follow directions • Problem solver • Able to work independently Working Environment and Physical Demands: This job operates in a warehouse, customer's homes, as well as in a vehicle and requires constant times of sitting, driving, and repetitive motion. Constant lifting of heavy items. Ability to lift up to 75 pounds. Challenging work environments to include stairs and walking long distances. Potential exposure to vibrations, extreme temperatures, hazard materials, irritants and allergens and noise. Cabinet Shop Apprentice/Assistant Responsibilities: • Organizing and maintaining inventory and storage areas. • Properly handle all tools and equipment necessary for packaging warehouse. • Ensuring that all tools and equipment are in proper and safe working order. • Accurately process and delivery numerous orders daily. • Achieve excellence in receiving, identifying, dispatching, and assuring quality of materials. • Follow Company safety policies and standard operating procedures. • Ensure shipments’ and inventory transactions’ accuracy. • Maintain a safe environment within and around the warehouse. • Confer and coordinate activities with other departments. • Forklift Qualified, Reach Truck skills desired. • Ability to input, retrieve and analyze data. • Hands-on commitment to getting the job done. • Strong organizational and time management skills. • Lifting to 75 lbs. Other Duties/Responsibilities: • Communicating with their supervisor when they arrive on the job and during the job to note delivery of materials. • Organizing and maintaining vehicle for delivery of product supplies and materials. • The safe and careful transportation of materials to an installation to insure there are not any damages. • Establish rapport with shop and sales colleagues when interacting on materials arriving. • Prepares truck for operation by inspecting general condition; checking fluid levels and tire pressure; obtaining or scheduling required repairs; validating adherence to road ability standards • Loads truck by ordering, placing, and securing items. • Maintains safe operation and clean appearance by complying with organization operational policies, procedures, and standards, as well as state and local driving rules and regulations; cleans truck exterior and interior. • Prepares daily routing. • Maintains telephone contact prior to deliveries and pick-ups. • Loading and unloading of deliveries. • Ability to use a GPS unit. Requirements: You must be able to meet the following requirements and physical demands: • No experience necessary, we will train.! • Valid Driver's license and insurance. • Clean driving record. • Willing to work from Riverside to Palm Springs Area. • Legally and safely operate a truck, a truck with a trailer, or a van on the highway and streets. • Lift and carry up to 75 pounds safely, at one time, during the loading, transporting, and unloading of materials. • Stand on his feet for multiple hours during the workday. • Be able to pass background check. • Speak fluent English. • Handle walking, bending, and stooping for long for long periods of time. • Be able to listen and follow verbal directions.
