Four Services - Family Worship at 4:30 PM, Traditional Worship at 7:30 or 9 PM, and The Way Modern Worship at 7:30 PM We are excited to once again worship in-person on Christmas Eve! These services will be open to the entire community. Because we anticipate higher than usual attendance, please RSVP as soon as you know your Christmas Eve plans. π¨βπ¨βπ¦βπ¦ Family Worship4:30 PM on The GreenNo need to worry about wiggle worms here! This is an interactive, outdoor, family-friendly service that is sure to engage all ages.π― Traditional Worship7:30 or 9 PM in SanctuaryA classic Christmas Eve service complete with the Mount Olivet Choir, Silent Night by candlelight, and Holy Communion.πThe Way Modern Worship7:30 PM in Fellowship HallA modern, laid-back Christmas Eve service with incredible music and a cozy atmosphere. This is a family-friendly service that will engage all ages!FAQsWhat about COVID restrictions and safety? All guests are required to wear a mask, indoors and outside. No worries if you forget one, we will have masks and hand sanitizer at all entrances and on The Green.Social distancing of at least 3-feet will be observed.Indoor congregational singing will be limited.Announcements about wearing a mask will be made throughout each service.Traditional Worship: Only the preacher and liturgists will remove their masks.The Way: Only the band and speakers will remove their masks.A sheriffs deputy will be on site to help you safely cross 16th St.Will attendance be limited? Yes, the Traditional services are limited to 200 individuals and no more than two households per pew. The Way is limited to 150 individuals. There is NO attendance cap for the 4:30 Family service outdoors, overflow will continue into the parking lot. What if my preferred service is full when I arrive? If the sanctuary becomes full at the 7:30 service, you are invited to stand in the Gathering Space or go downstairs to join The Way service. What time should I arrive? Do I have a guaranteed seat? Registration does NOT guarantee you will have a seat. Please plan to arrive 15-20 minutes before the service to get a seat when seating will be limited to those who RSVPed. Seating will become available to all attendees, even those who did NOT RSVP, 10 minutes before each service. The balcony will be closed to seating. Will there be childcare? There is no childcare on Christmas Eve. Children are invited to attend the Family Worship service at 4:30 PM on The Green where they can move, sing, and celebrate Baby Jesus! Where do I park? Parking is available in the main lot off Glebe Road. There is a sidewalk that will lead you across 16th St. to the main entrance of the church. There is also street parking in the neighborhoods surrounding the church, just be aware of signage and restricted areas! A sheriffs deputy will be on site to help you safely cross 16th St. What do I wear? What you are most comfortable in! Some people like to dress up on Christmas Eve, some people will be in jeans and a t-shirt. Just remember to bring a jacket if you plan to attend the 4:30 PM outdoor service! Will there be communion? Yes! Holy Communion will be served at the Traditional services and The Way using individual size, pre-packaged elements. You may also bring your own elements from home. We are an inclusive, welcoming congregation located in Arlington, VA just north of Ballston.Β
