Pain d’Avignon is a small business with a serious passion for the craft of bread and pastry making, and for the enjoyment of eating them. We produce fresh breads and pastries daily from our commissary in Long Island City. We are looking for hard working individuals looking to learn a skill. Join our team and produce doughs that follow our core integrity: simple, natural, fresh. Experience not required. We will train if you are willing to learn. Job Type: Full-time Pay: $16 per hour Responsibilities: • Follow instructions on where and when bread must be proofed. • Follow the production schedule given by the Head Baker to bake a variety of different types of bread. • Operate and control specialized equipment such as, Molder, Dough divider and Sheeter. • Check equipment daily to ensure that it meets health and safety regulations and perform proper maintenance and daily cleaning. • Use a variety of kitchen tools such as Scale, Pans, rolling pins, and cutting tools. • Cut and Scale large amounts of dough to form rolls and bread related products. • Must be able to do prep work such as cleaning trays and oiling pans. • Roll and Shape dough into pans, molds or on sheets to form loaves and other products. • Use necessary math skills to do simple calculations such as add, subtract and multiplication. • Must be able to work fast and efficient independently or as a team. • Must follow instructions of production supervisor. • Must be in full uniform (provided) including hairnets at all times, no exceptions.
