Description

Join us in community for a Sacred Tea ceremony to honor the turning of the Wheel at the Winter Solstice. Winter Solstice CommuniTea Ceremony with Rachel Jesien Sacred Tea ceremony offers us opportunity to build a deeper connection to ourselves, the earth and each other. Cha Dao, meaning “the Way of Tea” is tradition that has its roots in the ancient Chinese lineage. Each bowl allows us opportunity to soften and open to the deeper layers of ourselves. We cultivate an ability to listen to the whisperings of our heart with clarity and ease. The Tea itself known as “Living Tea”, and has been grown, harvested and cared for by farmers in Taiwan whose families have dedicated their lives to honoring this sacred leaf for centuries. Every bowl and experience of tea is unique unto itself, because at every moment we are changing. Tea Ceremony is a gentle way to come present to the moment and is the perfect way to clear our minds, open our hearts, and listen to our spirits as we move into the darkest point of the year. After our ceremony, we will be putting the physical Temple Space to rest together in ritual until our next Open Temple Day on Saturday February 5th where we will awaken Her once more! This Ceremony is completely donation based, but we ask that you register in advance to account for the limited space we have available. Please do not delay if you are an absolute yes. If you are coming in from NYC, transportation to and from the Croton-Harmon MetroNorth station is a quick 10 min cab ride. Because of limited space, if you are able to get dropped off or carpool, please do! What to Bring: Warm cozy layers of clothing and socks or slippers to wear inside the Temple space itself. We have a small amount of Yoga Blankets, Blocks and Pillows availablie. Please bring your own cushion or blanket to sit on if you need support. A journal, pen or whatever you might like to write or draw with to capture any insights that Mother Tea may have for you. **This Ceremony is intended for all genders and ages 18+ The practice is a silent tea meditation so be prepared to sit in stillness for an extended period of time.
