Yoga for Beginners Workshop
Maybe you have heard about the health benefits of a regular yoga practice
from family, friends or a monk. In this yoga workshop we will explore one
of the world’s most ancient and refined systems developed for the
improvement of physical and mental health.
Join long time Blue Lotus Temple yoga teacher Jayson Warn and learn the
basic foundations of this practice. This workshop will provide the
beginner with a basic understanding of yoga techniques and foundational
poses to help you feel confident in a group class.
What topics will be discussed and practiced in this workshop?
• A brief history of Yoga.
• Common and simple breathing (pranayama) techniques.
• Foundation postures (asanas) and how to adapt them to your body.
• How to modify postures.
• Deep Relaxation (shavasana).
What should I wear?
Please wear something you can move around in. Common apparel for
practice are yoga pants, gym shorts, sweatpants, sweatshirt or a t-shirt.
Masks are required.
What should I bring?
The main thing is to bring yourself and an open mind. You should also
bring some water and a yoga mat. If you do not have a yoga mat, the
Temple has them for use.
Please refrain from eating a heavy meal before this workshop. No
perfumes please. Please inform the teacher if you have any physical
problems, recent illness or past injuries before the class begins.
