Lithuanian threaded straw Christmas ornaments with Artist/Educator Laura Lapinskas in this Lithuanian Folk Arts Master Class Lithuanian Threaded Straw Ornaments (Picture above, view of the Balzekas Museum tree at Midway Airport) With Artist and Instructor Laura Lapinskas Saturday, December 11 from 11am to 1pm At the Balzekas Museum of Lithuanian Culture, 6500 S. Pulaski Rd., Chicago IL 60629 Learn the basic steps of constructing traditional Lithuanian threaded straw ornaments. These ornaments are very intricate and geometric, For purposes of the demonstration, workshop participants will be using paper straws. However plastic and natural straws will be available at the workshop. Participants will be able to see examples of ornaments from the Museum’s collections. Links to prerecorded instructional videos will be available to all registrants, including those who cannot attend in person.
