CSSR Research Fellows Presentations
Please join the Center as its 2021 fellows present the research they have conducted over the past year.
The Center for Social Science Research is a division of the Pamplin College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences. The Center was originally established as a Center for Public Service, with a mission to assist local public and non-profit agencies conduct research to improve their effectiveness. The Center for Social Science Research was recently established to expand upon that mission by providing support to faculty and students engaged in social science research more broadly. It has long hosted an immigration studies research program as well. In 2021, the Center began supporting a new Race and Social Justice Project under the direction of Dr. Holly Pinheiro. Many of the Center’s projects involve students as active partners, giving them an opportunity to apply social science research methods, learn about community issues, and work towards serving the common good.
