NEW HAVEN, CT — A double shooting late Wednesday night in New Haven left one West Haven man, 24, in critical condition and another West Haven man, 21, treated for non-life-threatening injuries, police said. At around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, police got a call from Yale New Haven Hospital about two men who had been dropped off at the hospital after having been shot, according to New Haven police spokesperson Scott Shumway. The 24-year-old is being treated for life-threatening injuries, Shumway said, adding police did not get a Shotspotter alert to any gunfire and no 911 calls were received "regarding gunfire at the time in question." Detectives from the New Haven Police Major Crimes Unit are investigating. Police ask that any witnesses who have not yet spoken with investigators contact the New Haven Police Department Investigative Services Division at 203-946-6304.
