Here are the top stories in the Irving area today: Here's the latest in the news surrounding the crash that killed a Euless officer: NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth reports that both of Detective Alex Cervantes' sons are out of the hospital and staying with family as they recover. Cervantes' wife has not regained consciousness; however, her condition has been upgraded to stable. Malini Basu of WFAA.com adds that TABC is now investigating Fuzzy's Taco Shop to see if it overserved the alleged drunk driver accused of causing the deadly accident. Staffing problems seem to be affecting many aspects of business nationwide, and Irving Animal Services is no exception. The agency says it has adopted new operating hours because it doesn't have enough workers. Care of the animals will not be affected by this change. (Irving Weekly)Irving is the site of tension between Major League Baseball and its players' union as the city hosted the groups' efforts to reach a new collective bargaining agreement.
