KinderWild Camp is a fun, nature-based, hands-on program for 3-5 year-olds with a focus on nature and outdoor education. Spots are limited! Pre-registration is required and spots are filled on a first-come-first served basis! Winter session added, starting January 15 through March 12, 2021!Fridays, 7:30am-4:00pm OR join us for just the morning (7:30-11:15am) or afternoon (12:15-4pm). Check-in begins at 7:30amFor youth ages 3-5.Maximum16 participants (first come, first served). Participants should bring a morning/afternoon snack, and lunch for those staying all day.Children should be prepared with appropriate clothing to spend a bulk of their day outside.Weekly sessions include: Friday October 30th: Join us for the morning session to learn about common shapes appearing in nature as a way of understanding the function of shapes! In the afternoon session we will discover the world below our feet! Digging, planting, and squirmy worms await! Friday November 6th: Morning session students will learn about how to become aware of how the bark of different trees varies in texture and describe a variety of textures found in leaves and other tree parts. Afternoon session students will learn about water investigation! Develop a basic understanding of the importance of water conservation. Friday November 13th: Morning session students will identify sounds and map their location in the environment. We will also study a Greek myth about sounds in nature. Afternoon session students will explore the different modes of transportation people use and explore simple ways to improve the quality of air we breathe. Friday November 20th: Morning session students will learn about the diversity of life on earth by looking at different plants and animals from around the world. Afternoon session students will develop an understanding of why it is important to conserve energy. Friday December 4th: Morning session students will learn about how many different products we get from trees. Students will grasp an understanding of how much we depend on trees in our daily lives! Our afternoon session includes learning about where waste goes and how to recycle! Friday December 11th: Morning session students will adopt their very own tree! Afternoon session students will learn about what it takes to be a bird! Let us learn about our feathered friends together, and get a chance to meet our very own hawk, Apollo! Friday December 18th: Morning session students will discover how plants and animals depend on trees in many ways. Afternoon session students will discover the power of wind and air! Enjoy craft time, windy games, and more!
