Bucks County SPCA Raises $21K, More Than 4x Giving Tuesday Goal

BUCKS COUNTY, PA — The Bucks County SPCA announced Wednesday that a push for donations had resulted in more than $21,000 in funds for local animals. The Quakertown shelter had reached out asking for Giving Tuesday donations to install an oxygen line in their X-ray room. That new installation would cost $5,000; ultimately, the SPCA raised four times that amount. "Thanks to the generosity of our animal-loving friends and supporters, we now have the funds needed to install a new oxygen line for the X-ray room!" SPCA representatives wrote in an email Wednesday. "Our medical team (and all of us) are overjoyed to be able to make this critical upgrade to help our sickest animals." >>>Get the most important local news in your community: patch.com/subscribe The shelter will put additional donations toward the Animal Relief Fund, which helps pets rescued from cruelty and neglect or those with serious medical conditions. "This year alone, our Humane Law Enforcement team rescued 195 animals found to be suffering from cruelty and neglect," the SPCA wrote. The shelter is still accepting donations to the Animal Relief Fund, which they say are needed all year long to treat sick and injured animals.
