Description
Press release from the Dakota County Government:
12/1/2021
Recycle your used or unwanted holiday string lights and electrical cords at collection sites across Dakota County through Jan. 31, 2022.
While components of string lights and electrical cords can be made into new products, they don't belong in household recycling carts. They wrap around machines at sorting facilities and cause damage. Instead, bring holiday lights and extension cords to these locations:
Apple Valley — Dakota County Western Service Center Eagan — Lebanon Hills Visitor Center, The Recycling Zone Farmington — City Hall, Rambling River Center, all liquor stores Hastings — Dakota County Administration Center, City of Hastings Parks and Recreation Office Lakeville — City Hall, all liquor stores Mendota Heights — City Hall Rosemount — Steeple Center, Community Center South St. Paul — City Hall West St. Paul — Dakota County Northern Service Center Look for collection bins near the entrance. Check location hours before dropping off. The Recycling Zone in Eagan accepts string lights, cords and more all year. Use the online Recycling Guide to find out how to recycle hundreds of items by visiting the Recycling Guide page.
