CALABASAS, CA — The California Highway Patrol West Valley division stopped a wrong way driver on the State Route 101 (Ventura Freeway) Wednesday around 3 a.m.
The driver was determined to be driving under the influence of alcohol and was arrested, CHP said. No one was injured during the incident, according to CHP.
Officer Flores respond to the wrong-way driver and entered the freeway in Woodland Hills moving west. Flores stopped all westbound traffic when she say the driver, CHP said, and met the driver head to head in the fast lane.
The driver attempted to get around Flores, so Flores "intentionally rammed" into the wrong-way driver with her push bumpers to stop the driver, CHP said.
The driver was ultimately stopped around the Fallbrook Avenue exit.
"Fortunately, Officer Flores was in the right place at the right time and was able to take action in order to prevent a horrific crash from happening," CHP said in a Facebook post.
