TRUSSVILLE, AL — The Hewitt-Trussville flag football team won the first ever AHSAA 7A championship Wednesday night, defeating Smiths Station 14-13 in overtime. The win completed the first AHSAA-sanctioned season for flag football, and a pefect 12-0 record for the Huskies. Hewitt Trussville wins in Overtime!! The AHSAA Central Board of Control approved sanctioning flag football at its January 2021 meeting, giving the AHSAA the nod to pursue the partnership and to begin play for the 2021 season.
