Mobile, Ala. – Feeding the Gulf Coast's partner agency, Cross Point Church, is hosting a 10,000 pounds food distribution on Saturday, December 4, 2021, thanks to a grant from The Community Foundation of South Alabama's COVID-19 Response and Relief Fund. Participants will receive a mixture of fresh produce and dry goods. This distribution is one of many that the food bank and its partner agencies have conducted, thanks to The Community Foundation of South Alabama's COVID-19 Response and Relief Fund. In total, this grant will help provide 100,000 pounds of food through the food bank's Mobile Pantry Program, connecting 2,500 families in south Alabama with additional food and budget-relieving resources to improve food access. "At Feeding the Gulf Coast, we work to be a source of nutritious food throughout the year, but we understand the holiday season is an especially difficult time for those with no food on the table," says Cyndy Baggett, Vice President of Development and Marketing for Feeding the Gulf Coast. "This is a season for gathering together in celebration and gratitude, but that is not possible for so many right here in our community who face the challenges and uncertainty of food insecurity. Our partner agencies, like Cross Point Church, are a critical lifeline for our mission. We are grateful for the support and partnerships that aid us in providing meals to those who need it most." As the holiday season approaches, families and individuals seeking food assistance can use the "Find Help" feature available at www.feedingthegulfcoast.org to locate a partner agency or call (888) 704-FOOD.
