Bass player looking to start punk-influenced band

I'm looking for other musicians who are interested in starting a band in the Salem/Corvallis/Eugene area. I'm 31 years old, primarily a bass player, though I dabble with guitar or whatever other instruments are around. I'd like to have a collaborative writing process, with everyone involved bringing ideas to the table and putting them together in whatever way serves the song best. I live in Falls City, but I'm happy to drive to practice anywhere in the area. We could also use my garage if that's somehow the best option. I work weekday afternoons, but have a pretty open schedule otherwise. I'd prefer to practice once a week on a consistent day & time, ideally a weekday morning or evening. As with most folks, my personal music taste is rather broad. The styles I'm most interested in/comfortable with playing would be: Something heavy and dark with punk and metal influences, in the vein of Trap Them, All Pigs Must Die, Loma Prieta, The Jonbenet, Mastodon, Converge, Every Time I Die, Birds in Row, Xibalba, KEN Mode, Doomriders, Poison The Well, etc. OR Something more melodic and accessible, but still with a punk undertone like Iron Chic, Thrice, Hot Water Music, Coliseum, Alkaline Trio, Gaslight Anthem, mewithoutYou, Foxing, Lawrence Arms, Pup, Against Me, Bear vs. Shark, The Menzingers, etc. Thanks for taking the time to read this.
