Rehearsal band looking to continue year round rehearsals. Full time residents only. No seasonal members please. We are a stage show and dance band. Some charts played with a Latin fundamental. Mostly danceable Pop, Rock, Latin, Funk and Swing. Charts include Tower of Power, Big Band Voodoo Daddy and old standards with a Latin flare. Nearly all vocal charts. Not a blues or a country band. Our starting book has 120 charts, with a possibility of an additional 100 charts. Not a jam or a retirement band. We have 4 horns, (2) vocalists, guitar, keyboard, bass, drums, lead guitar, conga, and bongos. The rehearsal room has equipment that remains set. PDF delivery of charts in advance by Internet or memory stick, master book on hand in the room and one to take home for each member. Rehearsals are recorded and distributed for review. Our lead guitar is with us until Feb. then on extended vacation. Our bass guitar is temporary (just helping to get us started.) Would like to add rhythm guitar. After 3 rehearsals we are ready to add a male frontman. Most of us did not play during Covid and need to get in shape again. Larger venues shut down. Private clubs closed permanently. No interest in bars or restaurant gigs. Too small for us. Not delusional about the viability of a larger band. Yet, we rehearse as if it is. It's what we enjoy... None of us are superstar players. Every rehearsal works towards a well-rehearsed presentation. We enjoy a drive towards excellence and keeping keeping our chops. The rehearsals are not designed for personal entertainment. Everyone is financially secure with retirement income or professional level jobs. Members arrive ready to rehearse for the band not to learn a chart. Requirements: 1: Everyone is vaccinated. Several members have compromised immune systems. Others don't take chances even if vaccinated. Band members are professional level people (jobs in medicals physics, an attorney, a medical gas company owner, etc.) Some treat people with immune systems compromised by Chemo and radiation. One member specializes in exotic gasses used in the treatment of Covid. He travels the country giving seminars to medical professionals. That member arranged his schedule to be present on Tuesday nights. (to give an idea of expected commitment) Not interested in Craigslist medical opinions. 2: We read and follow charts. The charts have flexibility attained during rehearsal. This is not a jam band. We need a guitar and bass that can follow a chart, not jam from a chord chart. Minimal reading skills are required. Lots of musicians do a great job without reading music but we move through orchestrated charts.... lots of them.
