Description

This is Apollo. Apollo is a Neutered Male German Shepherd. Apollo was originally adopted from Mecklenburg county animal care and control with ground down teeth so it’s actually impossible for vets to determine his exact age but the guess is that he is currently 6/7 Years Old. The reason for the ground teeth ended up being that he likes to chew on and grind his nails on rocks bricks and seashells. He is Microchipped as well. Apollo is a big couch potato who loves snuggling and playing fetch in the backyard! Don’t let his age for you because he acts just like a puppy when it’s play time! Apollo has seasonal allergies in which he itches and some unknown food allergies but no known health problems. When I adopted him originally he was already trick trained and was obviously a service dog before he started working with me. He is now retired from service dog work. After a stay in a hotel with an aggressive dog for a neighbor where we had a few close calls Apollo did become a bit dog selective. Apollo has always been food and water bowl aggressive with other animals but has never been food or water bowl aggressive with people I can stick my hand in the food bowl as he’s eating. He’s lived with other dogs and never had issues before but as a precaution I would like him homes with no other pets. He loves kid but also to be responsible in rehoming Apollo I’d also like if children live in the home that they are older kids. Apollo is not a huge fan of cats but I do have cats that he is used to so it is possible with safe measures for him to live with a cat but it would take some time for him to warm up to them and safety precautions would need to be taken so if possible it would be great for him to live in a home with no other pets and being only pet. Apollo walks best on a gentle leader which will be included with him as well as any supplies I have for him. He is crate trained but Has never needed it but I will be selling his crate for an extra $50 if interested . His rehoming fee is $150 to ensure good home. I also ask for about six months that I can receive pictures and updates to know that he is settling well. If for any reason the home is not good with you please call me and I will pick him up. The reason for rehoming Apollo is to no fault of his own but unfortunately my family and I have fallen homeless about two years ago and have been living out of hotels and a van and it has become increasingly unfair to poor Apollo to continue staying with us and I have made the extremely hard decision to give my baby a better life. Texting is the easiest way to reach me but I can except phone calls and emails as well. Serious inquiries only. I will be asking what your home life is like to ensure Apollo is going to the best home. He shall be an inside dog only.
