"Resistance is Life" is a movie about an 8-year-old girl who escaped from a village in Kobane, Syria, due to ISIS attack on her hometown Apo W. Bazidi was born in Eastern Turkey to Kurdish parents. He is an award-winning filmmaker and founder of Burn A Light Productions, a social impact film studio based in San Francisco. His most recent work, How Far is Home and Resistance is Life, won 10 festival awards for best documentary. Apo believes in making a positive change and his lifelong motto is "Be creative and inspire”. We will be screening "Resistance is Life" which follows an 8-year-old girl who escaped from a village in Kobane, Syria, due to ISIS attack on her hometown.She joins the adults who pray and sing on the border, watching the smoke rise above their beloved Kobane. Clarion Performing Arts Center provides education and live performance opportunities by fusing music, poetry, theater and visual art as one organic artistic experience for individuals and communities.
