Families are invited to enjoy cookies and hot cocoa while they stroll the streets and explore the holiday decorations in the district. The Ravinia District of Highland Park will host a Cookie & Cocoa Crawl on Saturday, December 11, from 11AM – 2 PM. Families are invited to bring their kids out to collect festive cookies and enjoy hot cocoa while they stroll the streets and explore the festival holiday decorations installed throughout the District. Businesses will pass out individually wrapped homemade cookies from some of Highland Park’s favorite bakeries including Max’s Deli, Once Upon A Bagel, and Sunset Foods. Participating businesses include Baker Boys, BWB.Rocks, Dana Reed Designs, Ency Organics, Field Violin, Happi Sushi, Just Wellness, PT Squared, Ravinia Barber Shop, Ravinia Brewing Company, Sally’s Nuts, Taylor Reese, Wayne’s Cleaners and Yana’s Barbershop. “We’re always looking for a reason to introduce the public to everything this creative, quaint, friendly and historic neighborhood has to offer,” says Katie Wiswald, Chair of the Ravinia Business District Association and Vice President at Highland Park Bank & Trust. “We are so proud of how the Ravinia Business District has come alive with its new streetscapes, seasonal decor and lighting, and it’s events like this that bring people together to support local.” Attendees are encouraged to bring a bag to collect their cookies and be sure to visit one of the many local restaurants and specialty shops for a warm up, lunch or to pick up dinner. • Sally’s Nuts will be serving candy canes and hot cocoa with all the fixins’. • Ravinia Brewing Company will be hosting holiday gingerbread making sessions for the whole family in their heated beer garden tent at 11 AM, 1:30 and 4 PM. Reservations are strongly recommended at $40/ family and include Gingerbread house and decoration kit, John Dough Gingerbread Stout (for adults), hot chocolate (for kids), and chips & guacamole. Rumor has it Santa might make an appearance too! • Piero’s Pizza will be passing out cookies when they open at 2 PM to anyone who pre-orders a pizza for pick up on the day of the Cookie & Cocoa Crawl.
