Description

Take a day to rest and reset during this busy holiday season with an all day silent yoga retreat. The constant overstimulation of our daily modern lives wreaks havoc on our physical, mental, emotional, and spitirutal bodies. So what if you took a day to reset your entire nervous system through silence, meditation, contemplation, and yoga? Spend a day in quiet, tuning into and loving your body through movement and rest. This will be a day not only of silence, but fasting as well. We will fast from food, screens, and other sorts of stimulus. The purpose of this day long retreat is to address how we are so often chasing junky dopamine hits thorughout our day. We do this through eating overly proccessed foods, scrolling endlessly thorugh social media, ingesting caffeine or alcohol, binge watching the latest shows, ect. This overstiumlatoin and constant need to get our daily dopamine hits, generally leaves us unable to find the deep joy of stilness and quiet. As we enter into this busy time of the holiday season, where overstimulation is almost at it's highest, choose instead to set aside a day to let your body and mind detox from the endless distratcions and business that we unconciously surrender our lives to. Join us in person, or choose to do the retreat virtually in the quiet and comfort of your own home. For any questions reach out to DJ through email at: [email protected] Payment for this event can be made through Venmo, Cashapp, or by cash/check on the day of the retreat. There are only 10 available spots for the inperson option, so don't wait to sign up! Being Yoga is a limited liability company for the state of Idaho created by DJ Brown. DJ is a certified 500-hour YTT, graduating from the 200-hour yin and restorative yoga training at Sage Yoga School in Boise, and then graduating from the 300-hour advanced yoga teacher training at the Ayur Yoga Eco Ashram in India. He desires to use the practice of yoga to help people better understand and connect with their physical, emotional, and spiritual selves, giving them the tools and power to live from a more authentic and holistic place of being. One of his favorite authors, Father Richard Rohr, oftentimes talks about how as a culture we have traded our true nature of being for one of doing. Rohr goes on to say that we operate as "human doings" rather than "human beings". DJ's goal is to use yoga to remind people that they are HUMAN BEINGS and that our true identity does not lie in what we do in the future, what we have or haven't done in the past, but that it lies in the simple fact that we just ARE. Follow DJ on Instagram @being_yoga_id and/or Facebook @beingyoga.id for up to date posts, different class offerings around the Boise area, and just simple reminders to BE.
