HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT SUPERINTENDENT
TOWN OF LEYDEN
The Town of Leyden is seeking a qualified individual to serve as a Highway Superintendent. The Highway Superintendent is responsible for administering and supervising the daily activities of a major department of the Town regarding the maintenance and repair of public roadways within the Town of Leyden, as well as sidewalks, bridges, road infrastructure, and snow and ice removal as well as the maintenance of department equipment. The employee is required to perform all similar or related duties. This position reports to the Select board.
Recommended Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, civil engineering or a related field equivalent to a master craftsman level of trade knowledge; a minimum of seven to ten (7-10) years related work experience in the field of road maintenance and repair operations; hands-on experience in snow removal operations with a minimum of three (3) years in a supervisory capacity; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
Special Requirements: Valid CDL Motor Vehicle Driver's License with a Hoisting license.
