Dallas Defenders Escalation Tournament - 1,250pt - 1,500pt - 2,000pt POINTS: 1,250pts --> 1,500pts--> 2,000pts COST: The cost for the event is $15. Tickets are non-refundable. $10 will go to the prize pool. $5 will go to the DoTC Terrain Fund. VENUE: Texas Toy Soldier. 2540 Marsh Ln #100, Carrollton, TX 75006 ENTRY The tournament will be capped at 16 players. Reservations for the event will open on December 1st in Eventbrite at 8:00pm. Tickets will be able to be purchased at that time. If you purchase a ticket and cannot make it to the event, please let the TO know as soon as possible so that another player may take your place. BEST COAST PAIRINGS This event will use the Best Coast Pairings App for scoring and pairings. Please use the same email to register as you do for the app so that we can find you. THE EVENT The tournament will consist of 3 rounds. See schedule below for round times. Players will begin play as soon as they arrive and are paired. In the event players are still not finished at the end of a game then they will be asked to stop and work out results. Schedule Game 1: 9:00 - 10:45am (1,250pts) Lunch: 10:45am - 11:45am Game 2: 11:45am - 2:00pm (1,500pts) Game 3: 2:00pm - 5:00pm (2,000pts) ARMY SELECTION & SIZE EACH GAME YOUR ARMY MUST BE FROM THE SAME FACTION AND SUB-FACTION! Players will create their army lists using the Matched Play system from the General’s Handbook 2021. Please note any other Warscroll with matched play points can be used (Forgeworld etc.). Minimum Units Game 1 -1,250pts = Minimum 2 Battleline - Max of 4 Heroes Game 2 -1,500pts= Minimum 2 Battleline - Max of 5 Heroes Game 3 - 2,000pts= Minimum 3 Battleline - Max of 6 Heroes LIST SUBMISSION Players are expected to use the Best Coast Pairings App. and have all lists uploaded and submitted by midnight the night before the tournament. Note that for this tournament, and all tournaments going forward, WE WILL NOT ACCEPT HANDWRITTEN LISTS. There are several programs that will calculate your army list for you for free, including www.scrollbuilder.com. Printing the list is preferred, but we will accept a digital copy. For clarity • All your Allegiance Abilities, Command Traits, and Artifacts must be stated on your army list. • All units must be written in the sizes they will be used in (including things like fanatics). • All upgrades and options must be shown on the list. ARMY PAINTING We think games of AoS look best when all models are fully painted and modeled to represent what they should on the battlefield. While fully painted armies are not a requirement for this tournament, we wish to encourage players to paint their armies. We have adopted the following rules for our tournaments. Battle Forged - An army that is fully painted may re-roll priority rolls of 1. If your army is Battle Forged and your opponent is not, you may choose deployment instead of rolling off. If both players are Battle Forged, roll off as normal. An army is considered Battle Forged when the following apply • All models used must be fully painted miniatures of the appropriate type for the troops they represent. • The minimum requirement is 3 colors in an appropriate scheme, with textured/painted bases. AWARDS • 1st place - 50% of the prize pool in store credit • 2nd place - 30% of the prize pool in store credit • 3rd place - 20% of the prize pool in store credit If you have any further questions, please message Matt Taylor on Facebook or Discord.
