Description
I am looking to rehome my diamond doves. I have both males and females; young and old. However, I do not currently have any babies or fledglings. I also have finches (owl and society) as well if interested. I used to be a hobby breeder and quite passionate about it, but lately, the passion has waned and I don't have as much time anymore for them due to work. So, the doves must be rehomed. I am asking $75 per dove or $100 for a pair. If you would like more than a pair or all of my doves (I have 8), I can work out another price. Please DO NOT negotiate the pricing I already have. I see people selling a single dove for $90 and up. My pricing is fair, especially for healthy birds. I have them on a diet of finch mixes and millet sticks. I buy vitamin blocks too and grind them into a powder and mix it into their seeds. I have tried getting them to eat tiny chopped romaine lettuce, soft pear, etc., but other than seeds, the only greeny thing I can get them to eat is grass, cut into small pieces. I give them grit too. They NEED grit to help digestion. I have them in a large flight cage. The flight cage is not for sale, but they are best happy when given plenty of room to fly, perches of varying sizes (I use parrot perches, sticks from outside, and rectangular cut sticks from Menard's), and nests. If you are not aware, these birds SHOULD NOT ever be in a cage with a bottom grid/grate. It's terrible for their feet. These birds are temperature sensitive and cannot be placed in an outside aviary or by a drafty window. Lighting candles around them and using aerosol spray air fresheners are a big no-no. Birds have delicate respiratory systems. Do not ever combine them with budgies either. You should never place a hook bill with a soft bill bird. A hook bill always has the advantage over a soft bill. Budgies get territorial and can harm or kill a diamond dove. Please research as much as you can before buying them if you aren’t the most experienced or knowledgeable about diamond doves or birds in general. I recommend you use this site to learn from: https://www.diamonddove.info/index.html If you are looking to breed them, they are plentiful for that. I have never had birds that just kept constantly laying eggs. They need plenty of sunlight for this though. For any inquiries, interest, or more pictures, please e-mail me. Thank you for viewing.
