Join us for the Winter Day Camp in the Mojave Desert where there will be a field trip and fun activities for everyone! In partnership with Get Outdoors Nevada, Clark County Extension 4-H is hosting a Winter Day Camp in the Mojave Desert! Join us for this all-day educational workshop along with a field trip to the Desert National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center. Youth will learn about desert flora and fauna, hiking trails in the Las Vegas Metropolitan area, guided tours, and other great activities! This camp is open to youth in Clark County, Nevada ages 8 through 18. The cost is $15 per child. Registration is required as spaces are limited so sign up ASAP. Camp is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., on Monday, December 20, 2021. Participants will meet at AD Guy Knowledge Center, 817 N. St. Las Vegas, NV 89106, then will be bussed to Desert National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center where they will engage in activities and have lunch. Lunch and snacks will be provided. Layering of clothing is suggested as the weather is unpredictable. Mask are required while indoors as we are following COVID safety guidelines. Fueled by university-backed curriculum, 4-H'ers engage in hands-on learning activities in the areas of science, healthy living, and food security.
