$1.5 Million Road Resurfacing Project To Improve Road Safety

FISH HAWK, FL — Hillsborough County has begun preparation for a $1.55 million resurfacing preparation in the Fish Hawk area, a news release said. Osprey Ridge Drive will be resurfaced from the Fishhawk Boulevard intersection to the Churchside Drive roundabout. The 2.7-mile project also includes a small section of Fishhawk Crossing Boulevard from the Churchside Drive roundabout north to Dorman Road, according to officials. The county hopes this project improves safety for motorists, pedestrians and cyclists. Adding bicycle lanes from Fishhawk Boulevard to Osprey Glen Drive, reducing travel lane widths on that same stretch of roadway, and upgrading school zone signage at Bevis Elementary School is included in the project. The two-lane section of Osprey Ridge Drive will get upgraded pavement markings, called sharrows, to indicate that bicyclists and motor vehicle drivers must share the road, county officials said. The resurfacing also includes reconstructing the flexible pavement at the Churchside Drive roundabout and upgrading traffic signs. The project is in the design phase, and the resurfacing is expected to be complete in mid-2022.
