Description
KING COUNTY, WA — King County deputies and roads crews worked Tuesday to clear a stretch of Green River Road South, where investigators discovered a half-dozen stolen vehicles and other items strewn along the road near Kent.
In a social media post Tuesday, the sheriff's office posted several photos of the "dumping ground."
Deputies said at least six stolen vehicles stolen from cities around South King County were recovered at the scene after being stripped and abandoned in the area. Wet soil from recent rains kept crews from being able to remove some of the vehicles Tuesday morning, and detectives have yet to identify suspects in the thefts, according to the sheriff's office.
"Sheriff's Office deputies will continue to respond to community concerns in these and any other where cars and other vehicles are abandoned," officials wrote Tuesday afternoon. "Unincorporated King County is home to some of the region's most prized open spaces. Working with other King County divisions we will restore and preserve these areas for all to enjoy."
