Press release from the Falmouth Chamber of Commerce: 11/29/2021 Saint Barnabas's brilliant spectacle returns to brighten the lives of Falmouth residents A spectacle of lights will once again illuminate the elaborately decorated Christmas landscape at Saint Barnabas's. "It is a way to help brighten the lives of Falmouth residents and holiday visitors," said The Rev. W. (Will) Mebane, Jr., rector of Saint Barnabas's Memorial Episcopal Church. "Our 'Lights of Advent' brought so much joy to the community that we decided to bring 'Lights of Joy' this year." This is the second year for the display of lights on the campus of Saint Barnabas's. Thousands of lights will be switched on at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 28. The lights will complement festive ornaments and greenery accenting the church windows, Memorial Garden, Parish House, labyrinth, trees, paths and lawns. A community Christmas tree will be featured highlighting the organizations that the Saint Barnabas's parish supports. Visitors will receive messages of joy, hope and love as they walk through the campus. The Saint Barnabas's grounds, originally created by celebrated American Landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted, Jr., in the late 1800s, cover more than five acres and are situated at 91 Main St., across from the Falmouth Village Green. The 'Joy of Lights' festival will continue through the end of January 2022. For more information on the 'Lights of Joy', or to donate memory lights, contact the church office at 508-548-3863.
