Of course, that would not be possible without dedicated teachers like Kleb Intermediate's Ms. Amy Smith! For Ms. Smith, Principles of Human Services teacher and Head Cheer Coach, teaching is her second career, but teaching in Klein ISD was her first choice. "After working in the homebuilding and hospitality fields for many years, I chose to come and work in Klein because I was very impressed with their CTE department," said Ms. Smith. "The opportunities given to our Klein ISD students far surpass many districts in the state, and it's rewarding to see how our students have flourished because of this." The Career and Technical Education opportunities are what drew Ms. Smith to Klein, but it is her home campus—Kleb Intermediate—that has her calling Klein home. "Kleb is a place where magic happens," said Ms. Smith "We have super supportive staff, a dream admin team who allow us to explore and try new things, and co-workers who I call family. Kleb has offered me ways to grow as an educator, serve my school using my own talents, and allow me to be a part of something so much bigger than myself." Ms. Smith's students are creating, brainstorming, sharing, presenting, and even designing each and every day. It's her innovative way of teaching that keeps her kids engaged and ready to learn and excel. "Each student is different, so we really do pride ourselves on knowing them by name, strength, and need, and we encourage a partnership with all our families so that we are all working together to help our students succeed," said Ms. Smith. "The teaching profession, in my opinion, is by far the most challenging yet emotionally rewarding job I've ever had." Thank you to Ms. Amy Smith and all of our amazing teachers in Klein ISD.
