Description

Press release from the City of Austin: December 1, 2021 The City is migrating geospatial data. The Communications and Technology Department will be migrating the City's geodatabases on Friday, December 3. Applications and tools that rely on geospatial services will be temporarily offline during the migration window. The geodatabase migration will begin on Friday, December 3 at 4 p.m. and will take approximately 24 hours to complete. City applications and tools that access the geodatabase will not be available during the migration window. A pop-up window will display on most applications alerting the user that the application or tool is unavailable due to maintenance. Residents will not be able to access many map-based tools during the migration window. Services will be restored after the migration is complete. This migration is one of the final steps of a yearlong project to transition the City's GIS technology and software to a more current and more supported system. This project ensures that our GIS users continue to use the most up-to-date tools and resources to support work across the City. This press release was produced by the City of Austin.
