Description
ANNAPOLIS, MD — Authorities said an abandoned Annapolis home burned early Wednesday morning. Nobody was hurt, but officials are still investigating the cause of the blaze in the 500 block of Admiral Drive.
Neighbors and drivers on nearby U.S. Route 50 reported the smoke around 12:29 a.m., speculating that it was coming from a woods or electrical transformer fire. First responders instead found the two-story, single-family home with a second-floor blaze that extended through the roof. A team of 40 controlled the scene within 30 minutes.
Authorities don't know where the flames originated or whether the house had working smoke detectors. Investigators did not estimate the value of the property lost.
