Press release from CCMS: Dec. 1, 2021 Concord Community Music School's Bach's Lunch series continues in December with two Shaker-focused presentations: A slide show and panel discussion with folks who knew the last Shakers of Canterbury Shaker Village, and a joyful seasonal singalong with the Music School's Canterbury Singers. This season's free Bach's Lunch programs are either in-person, livestreamed, or pre-recorded on our YouTube channel as COVID conditions allow. (Please watch the website for the program format of each Bach's Lunch program, which will be determined within one week of the event. Registrants will receive an email with details.) Bach's Lunch Lecture: "Knowing the Canterbury Shakers" Thursday, Dec. 2, 12:10-12:50pm Darryl Thompson, Sarah Kinter, Bob Harrington, and others who knew the last Shakers of Canterbury Shaker Village share their stories. Canterbury Shaker Village was established in 1792 when followers of founder Mother Ann Lee formed their seventh community in Canterbury, NH, which remained prominent for 200 years. The Village has operated exclusively as a museum since 1992 when the last Shaker sister in residence, Ethel Hudson, died. Bach's Lunch Concert: "Hear, Hear the Gladsome Sound!"
