PALM DESERT, CA — A Palm Desert couple remained jailed Tuesday night on suspicion of burglarizing a local self-storage center over the past few months, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department announced. Blaine Sniffin, 50, and Valori McFann, 31, were both being held at Indio's John Benoit Detention Center. The two were taken into custody by sheriff's deputies around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 34000 block of Monterey Avenue. The arrests followed an Oct. 13 search warrant service on the couple's storage unit in the 40000 block of Harris Lane, Palm Desert. During the search, investigators "located numerous items linking the couple to the many commercial burglaries within the storage unit center," the sheriff's department reported. Life Storage is listed at 40050 Harris Lane. No bail has been set for Sniffin, who is a convicted felon. He is being held on suspicion of receiving known stolen property, a felon possessing a firearm, possessing a high-capacity magazine, and violating state parole. McFann was booked on suspicion of receiving known stolen property. She was being held in lieu of $10,000 bail. Both Sniffin and McFann are due to appear in court Thursday, according to jail records.
