Press release from the St. Louis Public Library: December 1, 2021 Remember, if you have not yet registered, there are two ways to participate in 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten: You should make a habit of pointing out environmental print on signs, labels, and menus. Additionally, you can reinforce print awareness when you read aloud. Try reading together at the same time each day, like before bedtime. Not only will it become a tradition you both look forward to, by practicing finger-tracking, pointing out the relationship between the pictures and the story, and allowing your child to explore the book itself, you are aiding in developing their print awareness. In The Read-Aloud Family, you will find the inspiration you need to start a read-aloud movement in your own home." this calendar Don't miss out on our Take & Makes kits!
