SANTA ANA, CA — A Monrovia man was sentenced to two years in state prison on Wednesday after he pleaded guilty to a fatal 2019 hit-and-run in Huntington Beach. Julien Ceaser Solorzano, 49, admitted to one count of felony hit-and-run, according to Orange County Superior Court records. The charge stemmed from the death of Derrel Gollihugh, 26, of Long Beach, who was struck by a car while riding his motorcycle in Huntington Beach. Gollihugh was travelling on Pacific Coast Highway near 10th Avenue on June 30, 2019, when the collision happened before 6:15 p.m, the Huntington Beach Police Department said. The car, driven by Solorzano, fled the scene, according to police. Gollihugh was taken to a nearby hospital and was pronounced dead. City News Service contributed to this report.
