MENDOTA HEIGHTS, MN — Representative Ruth Richardson of Mendota Heights led the charge in creating the state's newest task force-one that will try to prevent and solve the disappearances and murders of Black women, according to a report from Kare 11. The Task Force on Missing and Murdered African American Women is the first government-funded task force of its kind in the United States, according to the report. At the task force's first gathering Monday, Richardson cited a national study stating that it generally takes four times the amount of time to find missing Black women compared to the general population, the report said.
