Three Holiday Concerts Planned At Lemont High School

LEMONT, IL — Lemont High School's music department is ready to get the community in the holiday spirit with a trio of concerts over the next two weeks, the school said in a news release. Concerts are set for Dec. 2, Dec. 8 and Dec. 9 in the school's Performing Arts Center; all concerts will begin at 7 p.m. The concert on Thursday will be a chamber concert featuring small ensembles comprised of a variety of musicians, the school said. The event on Dec. 8 will be a large ensemble concert featuring the school's choir, while the concert on Dec. 9 will be a large ensemble concert featuring the school's band. The Lemont High School band is under the direction of Matt Doherty, while Dave Nommensen leads the choir, the school said. The band and choral programs will perform a range of selections over the three events. Admission to all three concerts is free. Attendees will be required to wear a mask or face covering. Lemont High School is located at 800 Porter St. in Lemont. Attendees for either concert are encouraged to park in the Performing Arts Center Lot, Parking Garage or the West Lot, all of which are accessible off of Julia Street, the school said.
