Press release from the City of Evanston: 11/30/2021 4:36 PM The Evanston Arts Council will receive an American Rescue Plan grant in the amount of $150,000 from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) to help Evanston arts organizations recover from the COVID-19 pandemic. The Evanston Arts Council will use this grant funding to distribute subgrants to Evanston nonprofit arts organizations in order to help fund general operations and rebuild the local economy. In total, the NEA will award $20,200,000 in grant funding to 66 local arts agencies nationwide. Evanston is one of only three communities in Illinois to receive an American Rescue Plan grant from the NEA, joining Rockford and Chicago.  "We are proud to see how our arts organizations have found ways to keep their spirits up through these difficult months and are thrilled to be able to make a meaningful contribution to their recovery and to the rich cultural life of Evanston," said Evanston Arts Council Chair Toby Sachs.
