LYNDHURST, OH — Several of Cleveland's eastern suburbs remain under a boil water advisory after a water main break in Richmond Heights. The water main broke on Tuesday morning, according to Cleveland Water. A 54-inch transmission main, first installed in 1957, on Highland Road had come open, and water crews had to alter valves to restore some pressure to customers. When water pressure drops past a certain level, it opens the door for certain pathogens to enter the water system, Cleveland Water warned. Here's what you should do if you're under a boil advisory: Flush all the taps in your house that you use for cooking and drinking. Run the taps for at least 3 minutes.Collect water you intend to cook or drink with in a pan or pot and boil it. Let the water boil for at least 1 minute. Let it cool before using.If you are in a hurry, use bottled water.Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes and food preparation until further notice.A boil advisory remains in effect for parts of Highland Hts, Richmond Hts, Lyndhurst, S.
