Welcoming an exchange student into your family for a few months is a great opportunity for teaching your kids about other cultures, kindness and hospitality 🥰 My family has done this twice and it is an experience that we have all treasured! I just can’t give up on this kid…… Felipe has been waiting a long time for exciting news, and since he is a Senior this is his last chance to be in the program! 🙈🙈🙈 it breaks my heart to imagine letting him down this month. Please help spread the word! 👇🏻 Here is a letter to you, from Felipe (who will have his birthday in America if we can find him a welcoming family! 🥳) Dear Host Family, My name is Felipe, I am 16 and I will be 17 next January. I live with my parents and my sister. My sister’s name is Sofia and she is 12. We are not allowed to have pets because we live in an apartment, but I quite like them. My mother works as a dentist and my father works as a dentist and as a helicopter pilot, he works to support oil and gas industry. I live in a small, mountain town; the climate is warm in the summer and quite chilly in the winter. I have been studying at the same school since I was 1 year old and it became my second home. I like the school environment and I have a good relationship with everyone. I live near the school and I walk to school with my sister and classmates I meet on the way. Other days I have soccer, volleyball and handball training and these are my favorite activities, I dedicate myself to physical activities such as playing games and going to the gym. At the weekend, I sometimes go out with my friends. When we are together, we play soccer, watch games on TV, listen to typical Brazilian music, we enjoy making barbecue, which by the way is my favorite kind of meal. Concerning my eating habits, I like almost everything and I eat well. I am an NFL fan and I always watch the whole season, I know several players, but I have some preferences, like Richard Sherman, Odell Beckham Jr. and Aaron Donald. I have a good relationship with my parents, they are my friends and I respect them very much. We do many things together; on the weekends, we sometimes go hiking, have lunch with my grandparents, go to the movies or go out for pizza. I try to be independent and increase my knowledge of the world by getting to know new cultures and people. My main goal, while I am in The United States is to improve my English as much as possible. Meeting new people, making American friends, learning the American way of life and its culture are also on my list of priorities. I hope to find a home where we can exchange our experiences with wisdom and respect. Best regards, Felipe ---- 🙏🏻 Would you consider being his host family for the Spring semester, January to June of next year? Please call, text, or email with any questions! Thank you so much for your help in making Felipe's American dream come true! 🥰
