MOORESVILLE, NC — The Mooresville Graded School District and the town of Mooresville will hold a suicide awareness event Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at the Mooresville Performing Arts Center, 160 S. Magnolia St.
The event, titled "Talk Saves Lives" will be led by Susan Tolle, a volunteer with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, according to the Mooresville Tribune.
Tolle is not only a volunteer, she almost lost her own daughter to suicide, according to Spectrum News.
The event comes on the heels of a student suicide at Mooresville High School in November. A student was discovered in a school bathroom on campus in what was later declared a suicide. Students were dismissed immediately and offered grief counseling.
The entire community is invited to the talk Wednesday night.
