Description

Press release from Washtenaw County: Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) Public Health Advisory Due to a rise in flu and COVID-19 cases, MDHHS has issued a face mask advisory for the holiday season. The Public Health Advisory recommends all Michiganders, regardless of vaccination status, wear a mask in indoor public settings. In addition, public establishments are advised to implement masking policies and encourage compliance with such policies. This face mask advisory will remain in effect until further notice. Celebrating Safely COVID-19 vaccines can make our winter holidays much safer than last year. When thinking about hosting or attending a gathering, consider factors like the vaccination status of the people you'll be seeing, ventilation, and community transmission rates when making decisions. Gatherings where all or the majority of people are fully vaccinated are the safest. Vaccinated people are much less likely to get or spread COVID than unvaccinated people. If you're around people who aren't yet vaccinated, consider using masks or meeting in well-ventilated areas, like outdoors. If you are eligible for a booster dose, get one as soon as possible. Nobody wants to make their friends or family member sick. Talk with your loved ones about how to celebrate together safely. Stay home and away from others if you're not feeling well.
