ATLANTA, GA — The man whose gun went off in Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport during the busy travel weekend before Thanksgiving has surrendered to police, according to reports.
Fox 5 News is reporting that Kenny Wells Jr., 42, turned himself in to police Tuesday.
He was booked into the Clayton County Jail shortly after 12:30 p.m., according to jail records.
Atlanta Police sought Wells after a weapon was fired inside the airport around 1:30 p.m. on Nov. 30, police said. Police accuse him of trying to sneak a gun onto a flight. Several people were injured during the incident as those in the airport scrambled at the sound of gunfire, according to reports.
Wells is being charged with carrying a concealed weapon at a commercial airport, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, discharge of a firearm, and reckless conduct, according to jail records.
