Job Summary The General Maintenance and Repair person will perform maintenance requests and general upkeep for assigned equipment and spaces within two restaurants located at one location. This position works closely with all levels of management, ownership and landlords. Requirements: Ability to follow instructions as assigned by any and all levels of management Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to work well independently Excellent organizational and time management skills Knowledge of general carpentry and repair Ability to use hand tools and power tools Duties/Responsibilities: Scheduling and overseeing execution of repairs when outside contractors and technicians are onsite Inspects and identifies equipment or machines in need of repair. Troubleshoots issues to determine necessary repairs and what course of action is needed Orders supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance at approval of management Performs other related duties as assigned Acts as point person for outside vendors when repair or maintenance related items are needed. Reporting all pertinent information back to management/ownership as requested or necessary. Example of Duties: Maintaining cleanliness and organization of workspace in dry storage Change lightbulbs in restaurants as needed or requested in a timely manner with consideration for active service hours Changing batteries in toilets across the restaurants Remove/Re-install and store tables, chairs and umbrellas upon request of management for either restaurant Repairing drywall, painting, repairing doors and other building fixtures Installing or building of metro shelving as requested or needed by management Installing new feet on dining room chairs as needed Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required. Related experience preferred. Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods standing and walking. Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time. Pay & Benefits: This is an hourly, part time position at $18/hr, 12-20 hours per week. Benefits include subsidize bus pass, discounted parking and flexible scheduling (although morning’s are required). Reports to: General Manager, Sous Chef’s, Director of Operations and Owners.
