Stringband Seeking Player/Singer

Meets

Beaverton OR

Description

We're looking for someone who can play banjo, Dobro, mandolin, or perhaps acoustic guitar - and, preferably, can sing a bit. We play a style variety; folk, country, classic rock, bluegrass, originals, some alternative, a bit of jazz - it all fits into our overall stringband sound. (Ability to switch off & play a couple of songs on elec. bass would be helpful, but not expected.) We're mid-level, always looking to improve. We play out once a month or so, but the frequency varies considerably depending on the season/time of year. We get paid, but often not a lot; we're not in it for the money - though some of our gigs are fairly high-profile. Most of those gigs are in & around the west side, but we're willing to travel a bit. We're an older group - ages range from 40s into the 70s - but quality and reliability is more important than age. We feature tight vocal harmonies and practiced song details. Practice sessions roughly once a week.
