We are in desperate need of delivery drivers on Thursday mornings! Drivers will bring food from our warehouse to one or more of the 75 schools we work with. Make an impact in your community today! Backpack Brigade is a small 501c3 nonprofit, founded in 2014, whose sole mission is to end weekend hunger in Washington State. By delivering bags of food to schools, we feed over 2,500 kids per week to help them make it from Friday lunch to Monday breakfast. We have routes to Renton, Laurelhurst, Bellevue, and everywhere in between. Currently, we serve 75 schools in King County. We will work with you to assign you a school close to your home. Drivers arrive between 9:00 am and 10:30 am each Thursday, grab a clipboard with their assigned school, get a coffee and head out. You’ll typically return with the crates we store our food bags in. The whole thing takes no more than 2 hours. Our warehouse is located near Showbox Sodo, Filson, and Krispy Kreme on 1st Avenue South Seattle. Please consider becoming a weekly driver for Backpack Brigade. With recent expansions into new districts, we are at our limit and don’t have the heart to turn anyone away.
