Job Title: Carpenter Pay Type: Hourly Service Area: McHenry, Lake, Kane DuPage, Boone, Cook and Surrounding Counties Reports to: Project Manager Summary Scholl Construction is looking for an experienced, hard-working Carpenter to join our team. Scholl Construction builds new residential homes and provides residential and commercial remodeling services. Our company sources local labor and materials, and builds with quality and integrity. Scholl Construction has been named One of the Best Home Builder’s and Home Remodeler’s in McHenry County from 2017-2021. Job Description • Perform carpentry work such as framing structures, joists and stud work, installation of building materials, and finish items • Daily meetings with crew lead to go over the progress of the project, including any customer concerns, problems, or delays • Staying on schedule with projects, meeting provided deadlines, and completing work timely • Communicate with carpentry crew lead to ensure projects and tasks are completed according to the time allotted • Maintaining accurate records of time spent at each project which required logging in and out of projects through out the day as needed • Ensure the reputation of the company is upheld by producing high quality work • Record mileage into Mile IQ and review with Finance Manager monthly if any questions arise • Perform other building trades as needed. Including but not limited to, insulation, drywall, window trim, puttying/caulking, tile, and framing Job Requirements • Proven experience in residential and commercial remodeling or construction • A sound knowledge about the characteristics of different varieties of wood and other construction materials • The ability to safely operate power tools • The ability to read blueprints • Come to the job site with your own tools • Good communication skills • Good customer service skills • Punctuality • Valid driver’s license with a reliable vehicle • Strong work ethic • Adhere to the company’s core values of high-quality work, professional and polite attitude • The ability to pass a background check • Continual adherence to the employee handbook To apply, please respond via email with a resume, or an email containing your name, education level, applicable experience, and contact information.
