Family farm in Hubbard, Oregon looking for an onsite caretaker. This opportunity is perfect for a motivated self-starter who enjoys working independently. The primary role of this person is to live on and care for the areas of our farm that are not planted in crops. Primary responsibilities include: mowing grass areas around outbuildings and along roadways, maintaining fence lines free from grass, weeds, and blackberries, mowing pastures between livestock rotations, pruning and trimming branches, spraying, weed-eating, leaf-blowing, roof and gutter cleaning. Additional responsibilities include: general farm maintenance such as fence repair, underground irrigation line repair, small engine maintenance of lawnmowers, weed-eaters, chainsaws and utility vehicles; cutting, splitting and stacking firewood. Prior groundskeeper maintenance and farm experience is required. Familiarity with livestock (horses and cattle) is a plus. Occasional feeding and animal care is a small portion of this job responsibility. The ideal candidate will be physically fit and willing to perform manual labor, enjoy working alone and outdoors in all weather, appreciate the flexibility and self-management opportunity that this position offers. This is a permanent, year-round position but does not require a commitment of working 40 hours per week. We are willing to work with your desired schedule to offer flexible work hours.
