Join us for a fundraiser for Medical Relief for Jamaican Hospitals in coordination with Project CURE With a huge heart and a whole lotta hustle, Javion Blake has managed to work closely with Project C.U.R.E to secure $350k in medical supplies and equipment for hospitals in Jamaica. Now we just need a bit of help paying for the transport to three hospitals in Jamaica that are in urgent need. Javion grew up in Montego Bay, Jamaica and was born in Cornwall Regional Hospital, the same hospital that both my father and grandfather died in. Cornwall treats the local population in Montego Bay. COVID created both an economic and a health crisis on the island. The tourists aren't visiting and supplies like PPE are increasingly hard to come by. His cousin Donnette built her 20-year career at Cornwall where she was a senior labor and delivery room nurse-- until she contracted and succumbed to COVID. The pandemic and the recent shortages have impacted him and his family personally. With some community support, we would love to improve things at Cornwall Regional, Sav-La-Mar Public General Hospital and Black River Hospital.
