*Application accepted at www.gswcf.org/careers PURPOSE: To assist in maintaining the cleanliness, safety and good repair of the council’s property, buildings and equipment, and to provide periodic support to council horses and barn management. REPORTS TO: Camp Ranger PRIMARY DUTIES: • Conducts day-to-day custodial and light maintenance duties. o Makes camp rounds and identifies maintenance needs. General maintenance duties include but are not limited to painting, plumbing, electrical, grounds maintenance, and other related maintenance activities. o Maintains the grounds and facilities to ensure they are clean and in proper condition to support Girl Scout programs. o Makes all repairs necessary as delegated by the Camp Ranger. • Conducts routine cleaning and stocking of basic items used by campers. • Supports Camp Ranger and project work plan by coordinating with outside vendors and /or supervising vendor on site activities. • Contributes to building /renovation or enhancements projects as directed by the Camp Ranger. • Purchasing • Maintains equipment, performs scheduled services and makes repairs when possible. • Duties related to maintenance and care of horses and horse facilities • Protects camp property by identifying unauthorized persons on property, following safety protocol and ensuring that all guests on property are following security protocols. • Interact with Girl Scout members and staff reflecting Girl Scout Guiding Principals. • Participates in council events, trainings, and staff meetings. • Keeps Camp Ranger informed on status and progress of work assigned. • Performs special assignments as directed by the Camp Ranger and/or management. QUALIFICATIONS: • High School diploma or equivalent • Skilled in general property maintenance and repair, including, janitorial, plumbing, carpentry, electrical work, painting, and grounds maintenance. • Ability to use assortment of power tools and various types of agricultural implements. • Ability to work independently. • Ability and willingness to work with livestock. • Able to manage a flexible work schedule and potential periodic weekend shifts. • Good physical and mental health and stamina. • Ability to make concise, accurate written and oral reports. • Familiarity with internet, and Microsoft Office products • Current driver’s license and auto insurance when driving on behalf of the council. • Ability to work cooperatively with adults from various social, economic, and ethnic backgrounds, individually and in groups. • Knowledge and acceptance of beliefs and principles of the Girl Scout movement; willing to register as a member of Girl Scouts of the USA REQUIREMENTS: Ability to lift a minimum of 40 lbs. Ability to walk, bend, stoop, sit and lift for extended periods of time. Technical ability to operate equipment. Ability to work in an outdoor setting with exposure to various environmental conditions Ability to pass Fitness to Work testing. Ability to pass background check.
